Israelites

The Israelites were pastoral nomads from Mesopotamia to Palestine. They then migrated to Egypt. They wandered around for many years in the dessert until they returned to Palestine. Between 1200 and 1000 BC, the israelites emerged as a distinct group of people. They controlled over the Palestine and Jerusalem when king Solomon ruled about 970 to 930 BC. King Solomon was known for his wisdom. After Solomons death, Israel had two separate kingdoms. Kingdom of Israel had ten northern tribes and the capital was Samaria. The kingdom of Judah had two tribes and the capital was Jerusalem.
